Experience:
Over 3 years’ experience working within Child Protection across both investigation and case management teams, supporting individuals with complex behavioural, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
Strong understanding of the impacts of trauma, including complex developmental and psychosocial presentations.
Experience working with a diverse range of disabilities across the lifespan, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Global Developmental Delay, and trauma-related presentations (e.g., PTSD), as well as adults and families with Intellectual Disability, ASD, and psychosocial disabilities.
Extensive experience supporting families impacted by family violence, substance misuse, and involvement with the criminal justice system
2+years' experience In-home support and nannying experience for a child with ASD Level 2, building practical skills in behavioural support and daily living assistance
Multidisciplinary collaboration across allied health, education, justice, and family service systems, working closely with Child Protection, SOCIT, and Emergency Services to support coordinated, holistic outcomes
Skilled in risk assessment and safety planning, including application of MARAM framework
Knowledge and application of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice approaches

Success story:
I supported a young person within the Child Protection system who was presenting with behaviours of concern, including self-harm, within the context of complex needs. In my role as a Child Protection Case Manager, I facilitated a multidisciplinary care team meeting to strengthen coordination, communication, and shared understanding across services.
The young person was non-verbal and engaged with NDIS supports. Through strong advocacy and collaboration with the care team, we successfully secured funding for an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device to support their communication needs.
This strengthened coordination across the care team and improved access to appropriate supports, as a result, Child Protection was able to safely close the case, with the young person continuing to be supported through their NDIS care team and no further harm reported.
